Spanish midfielder Juan Mata is set to leave Manchester United at the end of his contract.

Manchester United confirmed the expected departure earlier today;

This comes following news that both Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba will leave the club upon their respective contracts expiring.

Juan joined the club in January of 2014 from London club Chelsea where he won a Champions League trophy.

Since his signing, Mata has won an FA Cup, League Cup, Community Shield and the 2016 Europa League.

In that time he has netted 51 goals and 47 assists in his 285 appearances for the club.

His last game for the Red Devils was away to Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.

The World Cup winner signed a 1-year contract extension last summer which kept him at the club until the end of June.

Despite his future being yet unknown, Mata won’t hang up his boots and won’t join the backroom staff at the club which was once reported.
