David’s contract expires this Saturday and there is no further update on whether he will stay at the club.
With interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, De Gea has been emitted from both the Man United retention list and new kit launch amid these contract talks.
The Spaniard currently earns £375k a week at the club, which makes him one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.
It is reported that the reason behind the delay is that Erik ten Hag isn’t willing to confirm David De Gea’s number #1 status with doubts surrounding the keeper’s ability to play in a more attacking approach.
Man United second choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson is heavily linked with a move away to Nottingham Forest and is said to be valued at around £15m.
The club are also linked to Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana for a potential replacement if De Gea doesn’t re-sign.
Brentford’s David Raya and Porto’s Diogo Costa are also names linked to the club.
