Amazon Prime have announced that a worldwide exclusive documentary will detail Man United’s historic 1999 treble winning season.

The documentary will be called “99” and will be available on Prime Video in 2024.

Manchester United won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup across 10 days in the 1998/99 season, an achievement not yet replicated in the country.

However, local rivals Manchester City are on course to match the feat with a Champions League Final against Inter Milan and a FA Cup Final against Manchester United on the horizon.

The documentary will have a series format and will feature voices like Peter Schmeichel, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“99” is described to be “both a love letter to one of the greatest achievements in world football and the story of a group of players who were recruited, coached and moulded by Sir Alex Ferguson to create history”.

It will also feature never-seen-before archive footage from behind the scenes as well as fan videos from the historic season.

A production company founded by treble winner David Beckham will co-produce the series.

Amazon have already aired a documentary surrounding Sir Alex Ferguson called “Never Give In” as well as other sports documentaries under the “All Or Nothing” title.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus and the Brazil National Team are sides that have already been the centre of these series’.

Other sporting documentaries on the platform include Ben Stokes: Phoenix From The Ashes, Take Us Home: Leeds United and All Or Nothing New Zealand All Blacks.
