Police Investigating Cristiano Ronaldo Alleged Assault On Everton Fan

The police have opened an investigation following footage showing Cristiano Ronaldo knocking a phone out of an Everton fan’s hand following Man United’s 1-0 defeat.

Video evidence from @EvertonHub, shows the Portuguese smashing a phone out of the fan’s hand breaking it as it hit the ground.

Ronaldo has since issued an apology for his “outburst” and has offered the fan to attend an Old Trafford match as a sign of “fair-play and sportsmanship”.

The mother of the fan claims that the incident “bruised” his hand and left him “in complete shock”.

The incident occurred following Man United’s 1-0 loss to Everton on Saturday, a game that saw the club’s Champions League hopes dashed further.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police has said;

“We can confirm that we are liasing with Manchester United Football Club and Everton FC following reports of an alleged assault at the Everton v Manchester United football match at Goodison.

“As players were leaving the pitch at 2:30pm, it was reported that a boy was assaulted by one of the away team as they left the pitch.

“Inquiries are under way and officers are currently working with Everton Football Club to review CCTV footage and are carrying out extensive witness enquires to establish if an offence has taken place.”
