Chelsea value the player at around £60m-£70m but United feel he is not worth that with a year left on his contract.
It is reported that Man United will walk away from the Mount deal if Chelsea reject the third proposal.
The Blues remain interested in letting Mason leave the club but United want the situation resolved by the end of next week.
Chelsea are currently the window’s biggest movers after securing the signing of Christopher Nkunku as well as being on the verge of signing Villarreal star Nicolas Jackson.
They are also moving players on with N’golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy, Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz all leaving the club.
Sources believe Chelsea will accept the Mount bid and allow the academy graduate to leave the club.
