Raphael Varane Injured During Nations League Final
Manchester United centre back Raphael Varane has picked up a muscular injury during the UEFA Nations League Final.
The World Cup winning defender pulled up with what seems to be a muscle injury and was substituted 43 minutes into the final and replaced by Bayern’s Dayot Upamecano.
Despite the injury, France went on to win the final 2-1 against Spain with goals from Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe cancelling out a Mikel Oyarzabal opener in Milan.
Raphael Varane joins his fellow United centre back Harry Maguire on the injury list which leaves the club in a tough siutation heading into a difficult fixture period.
Man United only have 4 fit centre backs at the club including the injury prone pair of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones as well as Victor Lindelof, who has just welcomed a second child, and youngster Teden Mengi.
Axel Tuanzebe is currently on loan at Aston Villa however he may be recalled if the situation worsens.
Man United are about to hit a difficult set of fixtures that include Leicester, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City and Atalanta twice in the Champions League.
