United Leading The Race For Darwin Nunez
Darwin Nunez is one of the hottest properties in European football right now, as a whole host of clubs are keeping tabs on the Uruguayan.
Nunez, who is currently at Benfica, has been in wonderful form this season. The 22-year-old, has 26 goals in the Premiera Liga this season in 25 games, with six goals in ten games in the Champions League. He was instrumental in his club’s run to the quarter-finals, scoring pivotal goals against Liverpool and Bayern Munich along the way.
Erik Ten Hag, would have seen Nunez up close as the Uruguayan ensured Ajax was eliminated from this year’s competition at the round of 16.
According to AS, Nunez won’t be an easy deal for the likes of Manchester United to conclude. With United set to add at least one striker this summer, the Red Devils may trigger test €100 million asking price, which works out to around £84m.
Nunez is set to leave the club in the summer as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano earlier this month.
Goal n. 32 for Darwin Núñez this season. He’s prepared to leave in the summer, price tag around €75/80m and there’s a new agent now working to move him in June. 🔴🇺🇾 #UCL
Credit to Benfica as they refused €45m in January to keep Darwin.
