Jesse was rumoured to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window with West Ham and Newcastle interested but reports are now suggesting the 29-year-old is determined to stay at his boyhood club and fight for his place.
Lingard has only played 89 minutes under new manager Ralf Rangnick and hasn’t started a Premier League match since his return from West Ham last season.
The Englishman’s contract expires in the summer and he is ready to run down his deal.
Jesse is aiming to represent England in Qatar in the 2022 World Cup and was said to be searching for first team football.
He has since changed his mind since Rangnick’s appointment, putting off the interest of Milan and Barcelona.
