Could RB Leipzig Be Hijacking The Erik Ten Hag Deal?

As reported by Simon Mullock on The Mirror, German side RB Leipzig could “hijack” the deal to bring Erik Ten Hag to Manchester United.

The club, who was once managed by Ralf Rangnick, began negotiations a few weeks ago and is thought to have made a “bank-busting” contract offer in response to Man United deal.

The Dutch coach, who’s Ajax side lead the Eredivisie by four points, is said to be seriously considering the offer.

Ten Hag has been outspoken about his desire to manage Manchester United but requires terms to be agreed which is suggested to be a roadblock at the moment.

Reported earlier in the week, Ten Hag is the club’s favourable choice after beating Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui on Man United’s four-man shortlist.

Following Man United’s 1-0 loss to relegation fighting Everton, interim manager Ralf Rangnick refused to discuss the news linking Ten Hag to the permanent job.

If Erik Ten Hag did become Man United manager, it is unlikely that he will be managing his first season in the Champions League as the club are currently six points off Spurs in 4th.
