Brentford vs. Man United Rescheduled To 19th January

As per the club on Twitter, Manchester United’s first every trip to the Brentford Community Stadium has been rescheduled to Wednesday 19th January.

The game, originally set for the 14th of December, was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak amongst the Man United squad.

The outbreak saw the club force to close the Carrington training complex in order to quarantine the facilities.

Man United also had their fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion postponed and that is yet to be rescheduled.

The game, which has a kick-off time of 20:00 GMT, will see Brentford and Manchester United meet for the first competitive time in 46 years as The Bees continue their inaugural Premier League campaign.

The two sides did meet in a pre-season friendly which saw a 2-2 stalemate a few months ago.

BT Sport will broadcast the game live as part of the rescheduled midweek fixtures which will also see Leicester battle Tottenham on the same night.

Brighton vs. Chelsea and Burnley vs. Watford have also been rescheduled that week and will be played on the Tuesday.

Before then Manchester United will aim to get their season back on track with two fixtures against Aston Villa.

The FA Cup tie on Monday is the first round for both the Premier League clubs and they will meet again in the league at 17:30 GMT on Saturday.

Following the Brentford midweek clash, United will play host to in-form West Ham in a match cruical to the club’s battle for Top 4.

Brentford currently sit 12th in the league while Man United occupy 7th, 4 points off Arsenal in fourth.
