Form Guide (PL)

WEST HAM UNITED – W W D D

MAN UNITED – W D W W

Despite Man United currently sitting atop the Premier League table, the microscope has been firmly planted on Ole and the boys following the shocking loss to Young Boys in the Champions League group stage.

However, the illustrious European competition is on the back burner for now as our sights are set on West Ham United, who have started the season well. It’s 8th against 1st as both teams vow to keep their unbeaten Premier League runs going while The Red Devils also have the incentive of continuing that record breaking unbeaten run away from home.

This Sunday is part of a double header against West Ham as United host The Hammers this coming Wednesday in a League Cup tie.

Manchester United 1-0 West Ham: Own goal separates sides - BBC Sport

The last meeting between the two sides came in March where a Craig Dawson own goal managed to secure all 3 points for Man United. The result saw West Ham’s focus shift from a surprising Champions League qualification to an equally shocking Europa League push.

Man United Team News

Man United have three players on the sidelines and another couple of doubts for the game on Sunday.

Phil Jones, as per, is out while Alex Telles is still recovering from the ankle injury he sustained in pre-season. Despite Marcus Rashford returning to training following his shoulder surgery, he is still rehabilitating and will continue to miss the next few fixtures for the club.

Doubts include Scott Mctominay who is also just come back from surgery, Dean Henderson who hasn’t played since his long battle with Covid 19 and Edinson Cavani who has a little knock which kept him out of the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League loss to Young Boys.

Aaron Wan Bissaka is eligible after his red card and will serve his three-match suspension in the Champions League resulting in more game time for Diogo Dalot. We may see more of Dalot in the league aiming to get his fitness up to scratch for the midweek European nights.

Michail Antonio sent off as West Ham scrape a draw at Southampton | Premier League | The Guardian

The biggest piece of team news coming out of the West Ham camp is the emission of Michail Antonio due to his red card against Southampton last Saturday. Antonio is joint top goalscorer with Bruno Fernandes and won August’s player of the month award.

Winston Reid and Arthur Masuaku both miss the game due to injury despite neither really being in David Moyes’ first team plans.

The West Ham Predicted Line-Up can be seen below:

Both teams come into this fixture in good league form and I can see this match going any which way however I think following on from the midweek loss in the Champions League, Man United will know they have to deliver in this game and I believe the quality we posses will be too much to handle for a West Ham who are missing their main talisman. I’m going for a 2-0 Man United win. Come on United!
