United linked with Coman – A smoke screen?

As Manchester United are reportedly in the final stages of negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over Jadon Sancho, reports are suggesting that Kingsley Coman is an alternative if the deal for Sancho falls through.

According to the Express, United are considering a deal for the Frenchman amid concerns that Dortmund will not be wavering over the fee for United’s main target.

Kingsley Coman, who is currently at Bayern Munich, registered five goals and twelve assists last season as Bayern once again retained the Bundesliga and the year previous the French forward scored the winning goal against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League final.

However, this could be seen as a mere smoke screen for the eventual Sancho deal. Reports from various journalists including Fabrizio Romano are suggesting the deal for Sancho will be concluded with only the fee set to be agreed between the two clubs.

If you want my opinion, I think this is merely a rumour for rumour’s sake. It is well known that with the Sancho saga, both clubs want it resolved this summer and the Coman reports have no turth behind them.
