Manchester United To Launch £55M Bid For Mason Mount?

As reported by Sami Mokbel of The Daily Mail, Manchester United are set to launch a £55m bid to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

Mason is said to be admired by Man United boss Erik ten Hag and the Dutchman is wanting to wrap up a deal for the English international soon.

Mount, who has been injured in the last weeks of the season, is entering the final year of his contract and previous reports have suggested Mason isn’t looking to re-sign.

Despite United’s confidence in a £55m offer, the bid still falls short of Chelsea’s £85m valuation of the player.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are also interested in the Englishman.

While Mount looks unlikely to sign a new deal with ‘The Blues’, incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to be keen to keep the attacking midfielder at the club.

No decision on his future has yet been confirmed and no bid has yet been tabled.

This comes during a cloud of doubt hanging over Manchester United with no clarification on who the new club owners will be.

Despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe proposal to keep The Glazers on, Sheikh Jassim made an “eleventh hour” bid for 100% ownership of the club.
