Manchester United’s transfer window has suddenly sparked to life in the last 24 hours, as Erik Ten Hag looks to shape his squad for the new season.

After weeks of inactivity whilst other clubs have been chasing and acquiring their targets, Manchester United have reportedly agreed on deals for Frenkie De Jong and Tyrell Malacia from Barcelona and Feyenoord respectively.

Whilst the deal for Malacia appears to be more advanced, Frenkie De Jong looks set to become a Manchester United by the end of this week. The deal for De Jong had been stalling any progress the club were making on any potential other signings.

In regards to De Jong, sources have told ESPN that an agreement has been reached with Barcelona. Various sources have claimed the deal is 100% complete whilst others vary.

BBC reporter Simon Stone shed some more light on the reported fee:

The deal for Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord has been far less complicated for the club to potentially pull off. Initially the Dutch full back was set to join Lyon, however, since nothing was signed from the player’s side United have swooped in and they are now in pole position for the player.

Malacia,22, was on Erik Ten Hag’s list when he was at Ajax and is now looking to bring him to Old Trafford. It is worth noting that De Jong and Malacia both have the same agency.

After an agreement was struck between the two clubs, Malacia has reportedly chosen United over Lyon according to French outlet L’ÉQUIPE.
