Could Manchester United Let Paul Pogba Go On A Free Again?

Whilst Manchester United conduct their transfer business with their ongoing pursuit of Jadon Sancho stealing the headlines as of late, the club need to also deal with in-house affairs relating to one Paul Pogba.

Having exercised an extension clause on his contract previously, the World Cup winner is now facing a situation which he is familiar with at the club and that being his contract is set to expire once again, this time in the summer of 2022.

Pogba initially left the club in the summer of 2012, having found his first team opportunities very limited considering at the time the midfield options were very thin to which Paul Scholes came out of retirement to fill any voids. Pogba would go on to become one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe during his time at Juventus, which prompted United to spend upwards of £90million to bring him back to Old Trafford.

His time at the club, hasn’t been smooth sailing however with rumours circulating every window regarding his future and the player himself dropping hints regarding a potential move which many suggest are fuelled by outside voices.

Reports from various media outlets are hinting at the possibility that the Frenchman may see out his contract yet again with the talk of Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid and a possible return to Juventus on the cars

This time however, if Pogba were to leave, fans will be questioning whether the club themselves matched the ambitions of the midfielder. Players of a certain stature want the big trophies, hence why the likes of Harry Kane are wanting out of Tottenham Hotspur, it’s for the big trophies and clear ambition from their respective club.

Pogba leaves next summer or perhaps even this one and his legacy at United will consist of a Europa League and a Carabao Cup which is a far cry from he could possibly achieve as a footballer here at Manchester United
