Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is an official Manchester United player after signing from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 5-time Champions League winner was unveiled at Old Trafford before Man United’s 2-1 win against Liverpool.

The official club twitter account confirmed the signing following the unveiling;

Man United paid £60m for Casemiro with an additional £10m in future fees.

The Brazilian will earn somewhere in the region £375k a week, similar to David De Gea’s wage package.

It has also been reported that fellow former Real Madrid player Raphael Varane convinced Casemiro to come to the club.

The 30 year-old has made over 550 appearances in his career with the majority of them coming for Madrid, where he won 3 La Liga titles.

Casemiro has also recorded 63 caps for Brazil which included winning the Copa America.

He spoke to the club after sealing his mega money move;

“The opportunity to start a new challenge at Manchester United and in the Premier League is extremely exciting” said Casemiro

“I have worked with many great managers in my career and, having met with Erik and heard his ideas, I can’t wait to work closely with him, his staff and my new team-mates in the coming years.

“To represent United is an honour and I am ready to give everything to help the team achieve our ambitions”.

Along with the new signing, Man United’s Football Director John Murtough also welcomed the arrival;

“Casemiro is a serial winner and one of the best midfielders in world football; his exceptional record speaks for itself.

“He compliments the skillsets of the squad and will be a great addition to the dressing room with his experience, knowledge and character.

“I know that Casemiro remains as determined as ever to be successful on the pitch and we look forward seeing that in a Manchester United shirt.”

Casemiro is the fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez.
