Weghorst has netted 8 times and recorded 4 assists during his time in Turkey.
Erik ten Hag is looking for a striker ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United by mutual consent.
Cody Gakpo and Joao Felix were both targets for the Dutch coach but lost out to rivals Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.
Providing the medical is successful, the Dutch forward can be registered for involvement in Saturday’s Manchester Derby.
