Donny van de Beek Passes Medical Ahead Of United Move

Donny van de Beek has completed and passed his medical in the Netherlands tonight ahead of his €40 million transfer move from Ajax to Manchester United.

The transfer agreement between the two clubs is believed to also feature a further €5 million in future add-ons.

The 23-year-old Dutch international was given time off from Netherlands international duty today to be able to undertake his medical.

All that remains is the signatures to be penned and the documents sending off and the player will be Manchester United’s. It is expected that the deal with be announced in the coming days as early as Tuesday 1st of September but may take a little longer to complete all the necessary paperwork as Donny van de Beek is currently on international duty with Holland ahead of their Nations League games against Poland and Italy this week.

It is being widely reported that Donny van de Beek has agreed terms on a 5 year €120,000 per week contract with some bonuses. Not only does the transfer fee that Manchester United have paid make this good value for money but the weekly wage that is being reported is lower than expected and seems good all round business by the club.

Manchester United have scouted van de Beek extensively and were confident enough to hurry through the deal in a matter of days after making the initial contact with Ajax. In May, Edwin Van Der Sar made it known that Ajax would listen to offers for van de Beek and he would be allowed to leave the club if their valuation of the player was met. It seems that United’s first offer of €40 million & €5 million in future add-ons was good enough to meet that valuation from Ajax for the player.

Fans of the ‘Red Devils’ will have to wait a little bit longer as the paperwork and formalities are to be completed. We await the official confirmation from the club that van de Beek is a United player. As soon as that comes we will announce the news on the site.

It is believed that Manchester United are still in pursuit of a number of players this transfer window to bolster Solskjaer’s options for the new season with a number of links materialising over the past few days including RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and Spain’s Thiago being the latest names to enter the fold. Speculation still links us to Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, perhaps we won’t have to wait so long for some more movement by United in this transfer window?
