United Given Price Cut Deal For Kalidou Koulibaly
Man United still have eyes locked on Kalidou Koulibaly and could buy him in a half price deal according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
With Napoli keen to offload Koulibaly from their wage books to free up funds for further investment into the squad, the Italian club may be willing to sell the Senegalese defender for a lot less that initially anticipated.
His valuation has been around the £90m mark for a few seasons now with the likes of Man City and Liverpool sniffing around him but with the purchases of Ruben Dias and Ibrahima Konate respectively, this could give United an easier path to securing the deal which could now be done for just £45m.
While the 29-year-old is full of experience at the top level, it is believed that United see him as a cheaper alternative to Sevilla’s Jules Kounde who would cost the club up to £70m.
Koulibaly, who turns 30 in just under three weeks, will not give the long-term defensive sustainability many Red Devil fans are craving but he would act as an ideal powerhouse next to Harry Maguire and will add pace to the centre back partnership.
Man United seem to be throwing their hat in the ring of many centre backs with Raphael Varane and Pau Torres still being options for the club along with their reported main target Jules Kounde.
