Following on from the 0-0 draw on Sunday, Manchester United are back in action as they host Tottenham Hotspur who currently sit 3rd in the Premier League.

Both teams are still finding their purpose in the league this season with Tottenham on the edge of a title challenge while Man United are finding themselves in a potential Top 4 race.

Spurs have been a consistent outfit since Antonio Conte took charge of them last year and they have only dropped points in three games this season.

Man United have dropped points in four games including a 6-3 defeat to local rivals Manchester City earlier in October.

Both teams come into the game with similar form and it will make for an interesting affair.

The last time these sides met was the Cristiano Ronaldo show.

United took the lead in the 12th minute through the goal machine himself but was equalled by a 35th minute penalty from Harry Kane.

But Ronaldo did what Ronaldo does and scored three minutes later to restore the lead for his side.

However in the 72nd minute, Harry Maguire turned the ball into his own net to level the scores all before Ronaldo secured his hat-trick with his 81st minute winner.

This game was a big matchup in the Top 4 battle but ultimately was irrelevant in the end with Spurs qualification for the Champions League while United finished in a Europa League spot.

Team News

Man United are dealing with a few close calls up until kickoff on the injury front.

Christian Eriksen missed the weekend’s draw due to illness but could likely return to the team against his old side.

Marcus Rashford was also ill but was involved in Sunday’s game so is expected to be a part of the squad.

Anthony Martial’s back issues could force him out of this game although it is unconfirmed whether that is the case or not.

Donny Van de Beek, Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all confirmed to be on the sidelines and will miss this big match.

The predicted line-up is shown below;

DE GEA, DALOT, VARANE, MARTINEZ, SHAW, CASEMIRO, MCTOMINAY, FERNANDES, ANTONY, RASHFORD, RONALDO

As for Spurs, they are without trusted Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski due to a hamstring injury.

His replacement Richarlison is also out injured and Emerson Royal is serving his final match suspension following on from his red card against Arsenal earlier this month.

The predicted line-up for the away side can be seen below;

LLORIS, DOHERTY, ROMERO, DIER, DAVIES, SESSEGNON, HOJBJERG, BENTANCUR, MOURA, SON, KANE

Prediction

This is going to be a tight game which may be a difficult watch.

We won’t see goals galore  judging off previous performances and I don’t see it being anything other than a stalemate.

I’m going to predicted a 1-1 draw between the two top sides.
