Man United Reach Full Agreement With Barcelona For Frenkie De Jong
In the saga that never ends, Man United have agreed a deal with Barcelona for the signing of Frenkie De Jong.
The agreement is said to be around the £72m mark which is a base fee of around £63m and then a further £9m in add ons.
Interestingly, this is a increase in the previously reported figures that were estimated to be much lower than this fee.
Fabrizio Romano revealed the details earlier today;

After refusing to sell the Dutchman, Barcelona are keen on offloading De Jong especially after signing Raphinha from Leeds United for around £50m.
However, the agreement with Barcelona was never the stumbling block of this deal.
The Spanish giants owe Frenkie De Jong £17m from unpaid wages during the global pandemic.
Frenkie is reported to be happy to stay at Barcelona however it is not yet known whether this is just a play to get Barca to pay the £17m.
Contrasting reports from Gerard Romero suggests that De Jong’s agent is willing to offer him around to other clubs if Frenkie doesn’t want a move to United.

A date to consider is Friday as Barcelona fly out for their pre-season tour and if De Jong is on the plane, this could suggest he is staying at the club.
Despite this summer long chase, Man United are slowly getting further business done.
Last week, Tyrell Malacia became Erik Ten Hag’s first signing at Man United.
Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez are also set to join the club, avoiding any complications.
