Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has good memories of being Man United manager against PSG after the incredible second leg comeback in February 2019, confirming him as permanent coach of ‘The Red Devils’. However, PSG have visited a Champions League Final since then while United lost a Europa League Semi Final.

Manchester United and RB Leipzig have never faced one another in fact the last time Man United won the Champions League, RB Leipzig weren’t even a Football Club. A conflict of interest for sure is Dayot Upamencano who I’m confident United will be happy to keep a close eye on. It’s important not to underestimate such a young club like so many teams did last year, after all they were Champions League Semi Finalists last season.

As for Istanbul Basaksehir, they reached the Round of 16 in the Europa League before falling to eventful victims of Man United, Copehagen. The biggest talking point with this draw is Rafael Da Silva who now plays for the Turkish side. He recently launched a verbal attack on both Louis Van Gaal and Alexis Sanchez for their respective roles when at United. The club also has former Premier League players such as Martin Skrtel, Nacer Chadli and of course Demba Ba.

On reflection, it appears as though United have been drawn in the dreaded “Group of Death” but it’s nothing United can’t deal with. After all you need to beat these teams in order to progress far in this competition.

What do you make of the draw? Are you happy United play some mouth watering teams or are you worried that progression out of the group seems tough? Leave your thoughts and comments below.
