During the January transfer window, Wout Weghorst was signed on a six-month loan from newly-promoted Burnley, cutting his original loan at Turkish side Besiktas short.
The Dutch striker has netted twice for the Red Devils since arriving and has won a Carabao Cup with the club.
Looking to add to his trophy count for the season, his final game comes this Saturday in the FA Cup final against Premier League Champions and Champions League finalists Manchester City.
On the other hand, Marcel Sabitzer is unavailable for selection due to injury and will return to parent club Bayern Munich, who were crowned Bundesliga champions for a record 11th consecutive time on Saturday.
The Austrian, who filled in for the likes of a suspended Casemiro and an injured Christian Eriksen over his six-month stay, netted three times for Manchester United in his 18 club appearances.
Despite a lack of clarity over the new owners of the club, Manchester United are keen on spending in the two key areas to replace the duo.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are frontrunners for the striker role while Mason Mount, Declan Rice and Adrien Rabiot have been linked to the rumoured midfield signing.
Man United have also targeted Kim-Min Jae as a defensive reinforcement to bolster the back line.
The report also states that there are intentions on bringing in a young forward with the summer budget with any further transfers funded for by player sales.
Fred, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Anthony Martial and Scott Mctominay are some of the players rumoured to be on the sell list for United.
