Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Asks To Leave Man United

Man United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has internally asked to leave the club, The Times reports.

Duncan Castles says that if a “satisfactory” offer comes in for Ronaldo, the player wants the club to allow him to leave.

The motivation behind this reported decision is a desire for the Portuguese striker to play the rest of his career in the Champions League.

Man United will be playing Europa League football next campaign after finishing last season in 6th place.

Cristiano has played 19 consecutive seasons in the premier European competition dating back to 2003 when he first moved to English football.

The Times also reports that the 37 year-old believes he has around “three or four years” left at the highest level of the game where he wants to add to his trophy cabinet, both team wise and individually.

Despite this “request”, Ronaldo is still said to have huge respect for the club that he won his first Balon d’or with.

It is worth noting that there are no other reports supporting this news as of yet.

Man United have already seen multiple departures this summer including Dean Henderson’s loan to Nottingham Forest being confirmed earlier today as well as contract expiries such as Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.

The club have also reached an agreement with Tyrell Malacia and continue talks with Frenkie De Jong and Lisandro Martinez.
